How I Think About Eye Care

How I Think About Eye Care

Many eye conditions that threaten vision do not cause symptoms early.
They progress quietly over years, and the loss they cause is often irreversible.

Because of this, my approach to eye care is built around thinking ahead, not reacting late.

At the centre of every decision is a simple principle: first, do no harm.
Each recommendation is guided by careful risk–benefit analysis, with a focus on long-arc vision preservation, quality of vision, and quality of life.

I focus on understanding risk before damage occurs, and on making decisions that still make sense many years from now. Vision is not just a number on a report: it is a lifelong function that shapes how you read, drive, work, and live independently.

Good eye care is not about doing more or acting faster.
It is about doing the right thing at the right time, with clarity.

I do not rush to surgery simply because it is available. I recommend it when careful assessment shows that not intervening carries a greater long-term risk than intervening, and when acting at the right moment offers the best chance of preserving function.

My role is not only to treat disease, but to help you make calm, informed decisions in situations where timing matters and vision must be protected for life.
