I started consulting Dr. Shibal three years ago after a glaucoma scare by my previous ophthalmologist in Bangalore. Dr. Shibal was so astute with my course correction and she set all my worries to rest in just that first consultation. I have been coming to her regularly since then and she has been closely monitoring my eye health.
Her attentiveness instills a lot of confidence in her patients and while her competence is exemplary, it is her round-the-clock accessibility at a very personal level that sets her apart from any doctor I have met. She is always there on the phone to address any niggling doubts you might have regarding your condition. This speaks volumes of her commitment to each patient and the fact that she truly cares for their well-being.
She sets a precedent for her entire team and I see them conduct themselves with the same kind of patience, pleasantness and care that they see in Dr. Shibal. Some of the tests for glaucoma can be quite tiresome but the way her team handles these tests make them far less taxing than they actually are.
I am so glad that I’ve found her and I absolutely do not mind having to make two trips to Gurgaon every year to see her. Just a few minutes with her and I am assured that my eyes are in absolutely safe hands.

We first showed my wife’s eyes to Dr. Shibal Bhartiya several years ago in Fortis Gurgaon. What made us keep going was her patient centric ways wherein she helped us , facilitated us rather, to arrive at the best course of treatment. We’re generally more test minded than medicine minded so preferred her approach to treatment. Today, Dr Shibal has moved to Marengo Asia hospital in Sushant Lok ii. We meanwhile moved to Bangalore. In Bangalore an eye specialist in a very famous hospital suggested a surgery. My wife just wasn’t comfortable without Dr Shibal’s opinion. Took a second opinion from her- was one of the key reasons for visiting Gurgaon- and her view is that it was unnecessary at this stage. We value her opinion highly and appreciate not just her professionalism but also her patient centric approach.

We have been incredibly lucky to have found Dr Shibal Bhartiya when we were looking to address concerns about my parents’ eyes. Not only was she spot on with her diagnosis (she spotted an ailment several other doctors had failed to spot), but she was incredibly kind, compassionate, gentle and generous with both her time as well as with her emotions when dealing with us.
My father suffered from a rare ailment, which she not only diagnosed, but also researched and treated, enabling him to continue reading and even driving, when most thought it would be impossible. She specialises in uveitis and glaucoma, both of which have been managed effectively through her treatment for nearly a decade.
I would recommend her most highly as a doctor who above all cares for her patients, is thorough with her diagnosis, avoids over-medication and goes out of her way to be available for them at all times. To my mind, there simply isn’t a better, more compassionate eye doctor than her.
Now my mother is under her care too, and she couldn’t be happier!
